RIU Palace Peninsula-All Inclusive

Last month I stayed at the RIU Palace Peninsula for a few nights while doing resort inspections in Cancun and the Riviera Maya. This property opened in 2012 and has 562-rooms and an amazing beachfront view!

This is the newest of the Riu’s Cancun properties. The beach location is stunning and it is surrounded by water on both sides! It sits on the northern section of Cancun’s Hotel Zone between Nichupte Lagoon and the Caribbean Sea. Within walking distance, guests will find a few shops and restaurants, plus a ferry terminal. If you are familiar with Cancun’s public bus system (best thing ever and it costs $1) remember to ask me about that!
There is a stop located right across the street.

There are three large pools — infinity, sports, and swimming they are all located just before the beach and surrounded by beautifully landscaped grounds. There’s even a small actual archeological site which really gives you the feel that you are in Mexico.

The hotel overall is very contemporary. The rooms are basic with white walls and hot pink or purple decor very large showers and separate bathtubs (which I don’t love since they are out in the open). All suites include satellite TVs, balconies or terraces, liquor dispensers and dual sinks.

This property is a good choice if you want to be in the middle of it all in the hotel zone.
