Inaugural Sailing aboard the Odyssey of the Seas

In November I was onboard for the inaugural sailing for the Brand New Odyssey of the Seas and it was so good to FINALLY cruise again! I wanted to share with you some of the highlights.
Currently the new requirements include that everyone that sails must be fully vaccinated. The ships are sailing at reduced capacity to encourage physical distancing onboard and masks are only required for embarkation and debarkation. Buffets are served by the staff, and a visit to the handwashing stations is mandatory before dining. Restaurant menus are available on the app or by QR code. The best of all is the muster drill, which is completed on the app or stateroom TV followed by a quick check in to the station! YES! and the elevators now have NO Touch buttons!
The Odyssey is in the Quantum Class of Royal Caribbean Ships so a bit smaller than the Oasis class which is the largest in the world. If you feel the Oasis class is too large for your liking the Quantam is a good runner up. The Quantam class is the most innovative and has the newest technology. Click HERE to see my ship photos.
SO what is there to do on this ship?
Spring into action on Sky Pad, or soak up the sun at a newly designed resort-style pool deck that brings island vibes poolside. Take play time to the next level at the largest SeaPlex ever, with bumper cars, glow-in-the-dark laser tag, and the first fully immersive free roaming 4D virtual reality experience at sea, Virtual Adventure Zone. Plus Playmakers Sports Bar & Arcade, offering game day faves with prime views of all the action.
The entertainment is really off the charts! The most highly advanced entertainment technology on earth is at the TWO70 venue, combining 12k video resolution with 36 axis robotics, and some of the most future forward staging equipment ever conceived. They are truly pushing performance art to its maximum limit!

Below is a sneak peek of THE BOOK: Seven Chapters, One Adventure. This was my favorite but all the shows were worth seeing.

So are you ready to GO?
